Organisation of education in the academic year 2021/2022

20.09.2021

Education at the Medical University of Gdańsk in the academic year 2021/2022 will be conducted in a hybrid form with the majority of classes being stationary. Following the Rector’s Decree No. 80/2021 of 16.09.2021, all lectures, except those in the fields of nursing and midwifery, will be conducted remotely, using distance learning methods and techniques. The seminars can be conducted stationary. In justified cases, including due to epidemic conditions, the remote mode is allowed – in this situation, the consent of the dean of a given faculty or the head of the course is required.

Classes forming practical skills may be realized in a traditional form, i.e. realized in the seat of the University or an entity cooperating with the University based on an agreement, or with the use of methods and techniques of distance learning:

exercises – classes conducted in a traditional form; in justified cases, including epidemic conditions, it is possible to conduct classes using distance learning methods and techniques – with the consent of the Dean or the Course Director;
laboratories (classes based on methods using, among others, laboratory materials and equipment) – classes conducted in the traditional form;
practical classes (classes of a clinical nature, including classes conducted in simulation laboratories) – classes conducted in a traditional form;
internships – classes conducted in a traditional form.

Faculties (elective courses) will be conducted traditionally or using distance learning methods and techniques, with the decision on whether to conduct faculties remotely being made by the appropriate dean or course director.

Classes in the First Doctoral School, specialization courses, and postgraduate studies will be conducted in traditional or remote form. In the case of significant deterioration of the epidemiological situation, the Rector of the Graduate School may decide to change the mode of conducting stationary classes to remote.
